FemiLift Specialist Questions and Answers

Over time, the body loses elasticity and function slowly begins to decline. This also includes the female reproductive organs, as vaginal laxity and dryness, among other symptoms, can occur. Fortunately, there are a wealth of treatment options available to improve sexual dysfunction and overall quality of life.

What is a FemiLift procedure?

FemiLift is a specialized procedure that uses technology to improve issues related to vaginal degeneration and restore the function of the vagina. To complete the procedure, StudioEros uses specialized CO2 lasers manufactured by Alma Lasers, a worldwide leader of aesthetic procedures. This technology is designed to deliver thermal energy and light to stimulate a healing response in the tissue. Dr. Lowney can perform FemiLift laser treatments to tighten the delicate tissue for better feminine health.

It is a safe, non-surgical treatment that can quickly solve numerous feminine issues. These issues are much more common than most people realize. Thankfully, with FemiLift, they are easy to solve. Unlike other vaginal rejuvenation procedures, FemiLift treatments can be done in an outpatient setting, such as an office. There are very little to no side-effects with essentially zero downtime, which means you can resume your everyday activities immediately after the procedure. It may be recommended to avoid sex for about 48 hours after the treatment.

Is FemiLift permanent?

The results of FemiLift are long lasting, but they are not permanent, as regular treatment top ups everyone to two years to maintain results may be required. While some women notice an improvement in their symptoms after the first treatment, it may require several treatments to experience the best results.

For the best results, two to three treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart may be the recommended treatment plan. To maintain the best results, a follow-up treatment every 18 to 24 months is typically recommended. To allow time for the collagen, elastin and new tissue to develop, the treatments are spaced apart approximately four to six weeks. This allows the vaginal walls to strengthen, which improves symptoms.

If you commit to fewer treatments than what is recommended, the problems may reoccur. However, when following the recommended treatment plan with follow-up appointments, any issues should be minimized or eliminated for several years. To help prolong the effects of FemiLift treatments, your practitioner may recommend regular Kegel exercises.
These numbers are meant to be a general guideline, and the amount and frequency of your treatments will depend on your individual circumstances and your physicians recommendations.

What is the difference between FemiLift and ThermiVA?

FemiLift and ThermiVA are different technologies with similar uses. FemiLift uses a CO2 laser to heat the vaginal wall tissues. This stimulates collagen production and rejuvenates the vagina. This process improves the quality of the tissues of the vaginal wall and helps to improve symptoms such as dryness, soreness and stress urinary incontinence.
ThermiVA uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the vaginal wall tissues and the outer tissue of the labia. The heat stimulates collagen production and blood flow.

The main difference between the two is that FemiLift is able to treat stress urinary incontinence more safely and effectively. This is due to the fact that the heat from FemiLift’s CO2 laser does not penetrate as deeply as the radiofrequency energy used by ThermiVA devices.
